I am sick and tired of taxpayer dollars going to these ridiculous TV commercials where the cops and state troopers stand around their cars and spew out the latest stupidity.
- Click it or Ticket
- Sober or Slammer
- Highways or Dieways
To name a few.
Does this idiocy make any difference whatsoever? Is some fool not going to drink and drive because he saw this commercial? Nothing, besides that God awful Snuggles fabric softner bear, evokes such angry response from me.
Are these assholes on the clock while they film this crap? Are they getting paid, by the taxpayers, to do this shit? How much money does the TV spot cost? Production? Etc...
They need to get into their nice little cars with the flashing lights and sirens, and go take a nap in a deserted parking lot. Bunch of self righteous pricks.

I am so with you on this, though I don't pay for television, so I'm not subjected to the info-mercials. Cops come do their shopping in my store while in uniform, and therefore, 'working', and leave their cars running out in front. I'm thinking, "seeing as how I'm paying for your gas, could you please stop polluting my environment and wasting my money? And seeing as how I'm paying your salary, could you go bust up a meth lab that's threatening the community I raise my child in, and do your shopping on my own time?" I also love seeing them drive around talking on their cell phones, which, as we all know, is AGAINST THE LAW! I have had too many cops threaten me for no good reason to believe them to be on the side of law and order. I think they are kids who were abused at home, at school, or in the community, and thus became members of the nation's largest gang so they could get back at those who abused them, and use their 'power' to frighten or otherwise intimidate innocent people so they can go home with enough pumped-up bravado to beat their wives in secrecy.
